This initiative embodies the spirit of ‘Bayanihan,’ a uniquely Filipino cultural value emphasizing collective unity and cooperation to achieve common goals.

On August 18, 2023, more than 60 FitCrew volunteers gathered at Bagumbayan Elementary School in Quezon City to undertake a comprehensive cleanup and transformation project.

From rejuvenating classrooms to sparking enthusiasm for sustainability, 500 students now enjoy a revitalized learning environment, fostering a deeper connection to education and personal growth – a tangible investment in our future leaders.

Enhancing the Educational Atmosphere.

Holistic Cleaning and Maintenance:

In line with our belief in providing a clean and well-maintained environment for all students, we conducted thorough cleaning and maintenance across 30 classrooms within 4 buildings at Bagumbayan Elementary School. Notably, the Mathay and DPWH buildings underwent significant improvements through the #FitCrew #CleanUp and #GlowUp efforts.

TrashketBall Court:  Merging Play and Sustainability

Challenging the idea that learning can’t be enjoyable, we introduced an innovative TrashketBall court. This creative initiative merges basketball, a beloved Filipino sport, with the core principles of sustainability—”Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.”

Sourcefit Garden: Cultivating Curiosity

Our commitment reached beyond the confines of classrooms. A vacant 40 sqm area was transformed into the Sourcefit Garden, complete with an aquaponics setup. By repainting the lot, installing signages, and nurturing seedlings, we converted this space into a dynamic hub for exploration and learning.

Creativity flourishes without boundaries, as seen through the stunning murals spanning over 125 meters of school walls. These murals now infuse the campus with an environment conducive to holistic development.

Igniting a Passion for Sustainable Growth

Building upon the success of our employee-focused webinar series on food sustainability and waste reduction, we collaborated with Jose Rizal University to extend our advocacy to the youth. Through engaging discussions, we fostered a deep-rooted understanding of sustainability’s significance.

In partnership with Jose Rizal University, we organized a planting workshop to ignite a passion for sustainable agriculture from an early age. Students, parents, and educators delved into the art of cultivating their own produce, building self-sufficiency and environmental awareness.
